Religious affiliation classified by sex, age group, marital status, region and other geographic areas, urban/rural, nationality, place of birth, principal economic status, socio economic group, social class, employment status, occupational group, age when fulltime education ceased, level of education attained, and nature of occupancy of dwelling. Information is also provided on carers and voluntary activity. Information is supplied in the Small Area Population Statistics (SAPS) classified by Census Enumeration Areas, Dáil Constituencies, Electoral Divisions, Gaeltacht Areas, Garda Regions, Divisions and Districts, Health Service Executive Areas, Local Electoral Areas, Towns, Urban and Rural areas of each county.

The census figures relate to the de facto population, i.e. the figures include visitors present on census night as well as those in residence, while usual residents temporarily absent from the area are excluded from the census count.
